Build your budget from current camera and lab quotes. Camera quantity × (camera price + developing + scans) + postage gives a useful starting total; ask whether scans are included to avoid counting them twice.

Budget for cameras, the lab and collection
- Choose how many cameras you want, then get separate camera, developing, scanning and return-postage quotes. Prices and turnaround depend on the supplier.
- If a camera has 27 exposures, ten cameras offer 270 exposures, not 270 guaranteed usable pictures. Check the actual camera specification and flash instructions.
- Film gives a physical camera experience and a delayed reveal. Ask the lab for its current turnaround and how you will receive digital scans or prints.
- Assign someone to collect the cameras, label them and send them to the lab. Keep phone photos too if you want a backup.
A QR photo album for guests' phones
One album price, with defined plan limits
- Use the phones guests already have. They scan your album QR code, enter their name and deliberately upload pictures in the browser.
- Standard supports photos with 2 GB storage. Premium adds video uploads and 5 GB storage. Unlimited photo counts still fit within those byte allowances.
- Uploads need internet and processing; moderation or a future gallery reveal can delay what guests see. Test a real upload at the venue.
- Standard accepts uploads for one month and hosts the album for one year; Premium allows three months and three years. Download originals before hosting ends.
A digital disposable camera, powered by phones your guests already own
Phone uploads and film solve different needs. A QR album makes collecting guest files easier; it does not reproduce a film camera's optics or remove the need to invite people to upload.
No app installation
Guests scan the album QR code, enter a name and upload through the browser without creating an account. A standalone QR graphic needs to point to your actual hosted album; the graphic itself does not store photos.
Video with Premium
Choose Premium if you want guests to upload clips of speeches or dancing. Standard collects photos. Guests still need to select and upload their files; the album does not automatically copy their camera roll.

Download the original files guests submit while hosting is active. A filtered or edited upload is that edited file, not a hidden unfiltered original; phone settings and lighting determine the capture quality.

Keep film where its physical feel matters, and use the QR album for phone uploads. These four choices help guests understand how you want them to contribute:
Go hybrid
Put a few film cameras at the tables you choose and place the album QR code alongside them. Tell guests which memories you want on film and which they can upload from their phones. Collect and label every camera afterwards.
Keep the film-style edit
Guests can upload a photo they edited with a film-look filter. Keep the unedited file separately if you want both versions: uploading an edited photo does not also upload its original.
Make the sign explicit
Try: “Scan our wedding album code, enter your name and upload your favourite photos.” Use the free QR generator with your album's guest link, then test the downloaded code on a second phone before printing.
Give guests a short prompt list
Ask for a group photo of the table, a laugh during the speeches or a favourite dance-floor moment. Choose just a few prompts, mention the album during the reception and resend the link the next day within the upload window.
